Scion tC Recall Information
NEWS: Toyota is recalling certain model year 2015 Toyota Scion tC vehicles; SUSPENSION
MAY 2015 -- Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2015 Toyota Scion tC vehicles manufactured December 3, 2014, to January 30, 2015 and equipped with accessory coil springs as part of an optional Release Series 9 trim package. During installation of these coil springs, the rear suspension components may not have been properly tightened. If the rear suspension components were not properly tightened, the rear suspension arms may detach, increasing the risk of a crash. Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the bolts, nuts, rear suspension arms, and rear suspension member sub assembly, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin during June 2015. JUNE 2009 -- Toyota is recalling 1,348 Model Year 2009 and 2010 passenger cars built from June 2, 2008 to May 4, 2009. These vehicles were not equipped with load carrying capacity modification labels which fails to conform with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 110, "Tire Selection and Rims." Incorrect load carrying capacity modification labels could result in the vehicle being overloaded, increasing the risk of a crash. Toyota will notify owners and provide them with a new, accurate label to be installed over the inaccurate label free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin during July 2009. 09V-223
NEWS: Toyota recalls Scion tC sports coupes
WASHINGTON (AP) October 24, 2006 — Toyota Motor said Tuesday it was recalling about 30,000 Scion tC sports coupes over concerns that the side air bags could inadvertently deploy if the door is slammed forcefully.The recall affects about 20% of the tCs produced during the 2005 and 2006 model years, Toyota said.
The vehicle is only sold in the United States.
Detroit Free Press - NEW (October 20, 2005) Toyota Motor Corp. is recalling some models of the Scion tC amid reports that a glass wind deflector, located near the moonroof, might shatter when struck by road debris....The recall involves about 71,000 vehicles from the 2005-06 model years of the tC sport coupes in the United States.
